Troubleshooting Print Problems

After manufacturing a few frozen parts, we had to take a closer look at our processes, to find out what was going wrong. @Valus Valoo's cad designs were excellent and the sliced models had good line spacing. The simple section of track we were printing should have had moving parts like our earlier experiments but everything was frozen together. The latest parts did not look as clean and were slightly warped and distorted. There had to be something wrong with the printer setup. After carefully re-leveling the print bed, we tried the same file again, but this time it came out perfect. Evidently, the slightest mistake in setup can ruin a print job.

When I first got a 3D printer, a few weeks ago, I thought it would be as simple and reliable as printing documents. I now look at every print job as an experiment, and to have success in experimentation you need to follow procedures carefully. I summarized our https://cogitation-station.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FIR/pages/453410857 to serve as a reminder for anyone who is using the printer.
