Description

The drivetrain provides a form of locomotion to the robot and the chassis holds it together.

Requirements Addressed

Must move quickly but under control and be able to act as the base of the robot and not get in the way of other components.

  • Must be able to cross or go around the barrier as quickly as possible without getting stuck.

  • Must not collide with other robots or game elements.

Implementations


Testing

Testing criteria included: (using a 20-pound weight to account for later chassis additions)

  • Measure top speed and acceleration

  • Evaluate cornering

  • Autonomous driving over the barrier from the warehouse to the carousel and back, 100 times.

  • Autonomous driving around the barrier from the warehouse to the carousel and back, 100 times.

  • Driver-controlled course same as the above.

  • Keep track of when it gets stuck or collides with game elements.

  • Track Power use.
